About Us
Our Journey
Brunswick Sinhala Language School (BSLS) was started in July 1992 at Warrapark community centre Brunswick. BSLS was fortunate to have initial guidance and advice from Venerable Gangodavila Soma Thero and currently Venerable Royal Pandith Digamadulle Wimalananda Thero is the chief advisor of the Brunswick Sinhala language school.
The emphasis at BSLS is to teach the Sinhalese language, Sri Lankan Culture, Religion and tradition to our younger generation. We believe multicultural diversity in Australian society can enhance the quality of life. BSLS Students have the opportunity to participate in many cultural events throughout the year (Sunday morning religious program/ Independent day celebration/ Sinhala New year celebration/ Vesak Buddhist Pirith chanting/ Poson sil program/ Christmas celebration/ Annual concert).
School is located at Gladstone Park secondary college, 24-36 Taylor Drive Gladstone Park VIC 3043.The school is managed by Brunswick Sri Lankan Community Group Inc and operates Sundays from 9.00 am to 12.30 pm during mainstream school terms.
